CIRCL Cybersecurity Training Initiatives

CIRCL Cybersecurity Training Initiatives

CIRCL (Computer Incident Response Center Luxembourg) has established a robust set of training initiatives to enhance cybersecurity capabilities across various sectors. These initiatives are supported by numerous European projects and funding programs, aiming to strengthen technical expertise, improve cybersecurity practices, and foster collaborative knowledge sharing. Below is an overview of our key training projects and co-funded by EU projects:

MISP-NG (CEF 2016-LU-IA-0098)

The MISP-NG project focuses on providing training for the MISP platform. Supported by the CEF (Connecting Europe Facility) funding, this training empowers organizations to utilize MISP for threat intelligence and information sharing.

D4 Project (CEF 2017-LU-IA-0099)

The D4 Project delivers advanced training in cybersecurity monitoring and detection, with a focus on network security and forensic analysis. This project enables security teams to build and maintain robust monitoring systems using the D4 open-source framework.

JTAN (CEF 2020-EU-IA-0260)

The JTAN initiative aims to provide actionable training for analyzing cyber threats within network environments. The training leverages the AIL (Analysis Information Leak) framework, helping professionals manage and analyze large volumes of data for threat detection.

Enforce (ISF - ISFP-2017-AG-CYBER)

Through Enforce, CIRCL offers training on LEA-specific cybersecurity tools, with the goal of supporting cybersecurity awareness and technical capacity in law enforcement and other governmental organizations.

MISP-LEA (ISF - ISF-2022-TF1-AG-CYBER)

The MISP-LEA initiative extends the use of MISP to law enforcement agencies, enhancing their ability to share and act on threat intelligence with improved situational awareness. The project includes hands-on training, leveraging real-world scenarios to reinforce best practices.

CyberEx (via ECTEG Funding)

The CyberEx program is a collaborative effort supported by ECTEG, focused on cyber exercises that simulate real-world cybersecurity incidents. This training helps professionals improve their response capabilities through practical drills and exercises using MISP and open source tools.

CyberExchange (CEF 2017-EU-IA-0118)

The CyberExchange project provides comprehensive MISP training focused on cybersecurity exchange among European countries, enhancing cross-border collaboration on threat information sharing.

NISDUC (CEF 2019-EU-IA-0129)

The NISDUC initiative is focused on NIS Directive compliance, providing in-depth training on MISP and other cybersecurity platforms that aid in managing and sharing threat intelligence within critical infrastructures.

These initiatives are central to CIRCL’s commitment to building and sustaining cybersecurity expertise across Europe, enabling organizations to better understand and respond to cyber threats. CIRCL continues to develop and update these materials to reflect emerging challenges in the cybersecurity landscape.
