The Computer Incident Response Center Luxembourg (CIRCL) has just designed different security and coding challenges for the first Morpheus Cup that will take place on 19 May 2015, during the ICTSpring Europe Conference.
More than 90 teams, each composed of 3 students, have registered to the contest and will fly in to Luxembourg from all over Europe to participate in this premiere. The teams will compete in 10 thematic events and pitch a business project to a panel of high profile judges.
The challenges prepared by CIRCL cover various topics from the security field: cryptography, audio forensic, file forensic, network forensic, revere engineering, file system forensic and cryptography. “Each challenge has different levels of difficulty and points to win, from 10 to 35. There will be an extra 5 points bonus if the team publishes the associated source code to solve the challenge on GitHub, along with the write-up. We will also publish online the most interesting results and highlight the teams that have submitted them”, explains Alexandre Dulaunoy from CIRCL.
The jury represent is composed of Julie Demarigny (VP International, Warner Bros Digital), Didier Rappaport (CEO Happn, Co-founder Dailymotion), Ulrich Grabenwarter (Head of Strategic Development-Equity, European Investment Fund), Fabio Gallo (Digital Business Development Manager, FCBarcelona).
The Morpheus Cup 2015 is an opportunity for students to demonstrate their talents in different fields and through the numerous challenges, to promote their university and to foster relationships with several hundred companies.
