We are thrilled to announce the successful conclusion of the first CIRCL Virtual Summer School (VSS) 2025, which ran from July 7th to July 18th. It was a fantastic two weeks of learning, sharing, and community building, and we are incredibly grateful to everyone who participated.
We are especially proud to announce that this inaugural event brought together over 1000 participants from around the globe! Your enthusiasm and engagement made this event a truly special and memorable experience.
Throughout the VSS 2025, we delved into a variety of topics and hands-on sessions covering tools and techniques in digital forensics and incident response (DFIR). Participants had the opportunity to learn about a wide array of CIRCL-developed open source tools and practices, including:
- Lookyloo, Lacus, and Pandora for web forensics.
- An introduction to Post-mortem Digital Forensics.
- Advanced threat-hunting with Kunai.
- Case and task organization with FlowIntel.
- Building trusted communities with the Cerebrate Project.
- Exploring vulnerability data with Vulnerability Lookup.
- Threat intelligence sharing with MISP.
- Monitoring the dark web with the AIL Project.
- An introduction to the GCVE.eu initiative.
